June 24th marks the official opening of NYCNAK, the occasion commemorated with an event at scenyc’s offices and studios in Mott Haven. This coincides with the first edition of The Bronx Digital Meetup, which aims to combine creativity and technology to better the lives of our communities.

A media and technology firm teeming with energy and communal spirit, scenyc was founded in New York in 2000 by a group of LFNY alumni who were friends at the Lycée Français in the late 1990s. The group, who had a rock band in high school, reunited during college to form the business.

There are 5 Boros here in NYC but for some reason the stepchild for creativity seems to be the Boogie Down. Well, allow me to direct your attention to SCENYC, an art, information, media, and technology company that's set up shop in the South, South Bronx! In scenyc's case, not only is the whole greater than the sum of its parts, each part is enhanced by being part of the whole.

Artists will create, display, and share visual art compositions to the sounds of live musical performances by Manyc Records DJ ensemble Red Light, while sections of the indoor and outdoor areas will host children's workshops, as part of a wide collaboration between businesses and organizations.

Be a part of the creative process, young and old, and come witness artists create, display, and share their work while Manyc Records DJ ensemble Red Light performs. Children's workshops will be hosted indoors and outdoors. Artwork will be available for sale, with a portion of the sale going towards The Point.

I have done some modeling for a campaign called “Be P.C.” for P.C. Progeny that was photographed and marketed by an amazing team of creatives in an art, information, media, and technology company called scenyc here in New York City.

We all started playing music because we were friends and we shared a passion. This is still the case today. We're just making the circle bigger with a Lycée alum group spanning several decades.

The third and final installment of the 75th Anniversary Speakers' Series was held on April 14th, with the discussion topic being 'How the Lycée experience influenced my life.' The panelists include singer-songwriter Chanez Baali ('02), novelist and memoir writer Susan Fales-Hill ('80), orthopedic surgeon and writer Ronald Grelsamer ('71), and Reconstructive Surgeon Laurent Lantieri ('80); with television journalism producer Magalie Laguerre-Wilkinson ('89) moderating the discussion.

The new LFNY building is magnificent, practical and modern, but as a student who graduated in 2002, I miss the old buildings. Having class in those charming mansions was a unique experience that few people have the luxury of living.

The benefit concert will take place in the magnificent Auditorium at the Lycée Français de New York, Manhattan's prestigious K-12 French educational institution, patroned by the Jolie-Pitts, Madonna, and a host of illustrious families from all over the world. Out of 15 musicians in 3 Manyc bands, 10 are LFNY alumni, from '95 to '03.

Lately, many artists are changing their locations to the South Bronx, accompanied by numerous openings of new art galleries. scenyc - website design, advertisement design, music/art event production - is a company involved in the movement.

A showcase from the folks at NY-based label Manyc Records. Strangely, on Tramponaline's MySpace page, it says they're on Manyc Records, but also says they have no record label. That's not very nice, now is it, Tramponaline?

Manyc Records releases ROCK 1 2005-2006 LIVE, a compilation album featuring Bandamous, Strip Darling, Tramponaline. The record has emptied Manyc's coffers, so its recording studio in the South Bronx will have to be completed using the neighborhood's abundant supply of sidewalk ferns and soiled cardboard.

Bronx-based outfit Manyc Records releases Milt Opus sophomore record ALL IS NORMAL. ALL IS NORMAL shows immense maturity, especially when you take into account that keyboardist Thomas Patriota was only sixteen when the recordings were made.
